Back to School Precautions.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the most challenging situation in our school’s history and the most serious public health issue for a generation. The dedication, cooperation, and expertise of our whole community will be needed as we safely navigate these difficult times.

Guiding Principles

  • Health and Safety in School: the health and safety of children, staff and our community are paramount.

  • Education and Social Emotional Need: we believe the education and social emotional needs of children are best provided for in face to face environment.

Our intention is to adhere to these two principles and reopen school with a normal schedule from mid-September. This is of course subject to change according to government directives and the situation with COVID-19.

Bubbles

Due to the extensive campus we have here at Little Starz Preschool which allows for smaller groups of children, the creation of ‘bubbles’ will be set up to limit interactions between students, and the health and safety precautions. We are confident we can safeguard your children within our preschool.

Basic Principles

Sick students, teachers and other staff members should not attend school.

We will enforce regular hand washing with safe water and soap, alcohol rub/hand sanitizer, and daily disinfection and cleaning of school surfaces.

Limited number of students per class (9-10 students per class).

Children will be dropped off and picked up at the school gate, they will be
assisted to and from the classroom by a staff member.

Regular temperature check will be implemented upon arrival at school
and throughout the school day.

An isolation room has been done, in case a child is feeling unwell.
Continuous communication and updates to parents.

We will also promote social distancing.

Pre-packed personal stationary per child, which is not to be shared with others.

Implementation of social distancing.

Before Coming to School

Any child who has a health condition which makes them more vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19 may be permitted to stay at home and learn online (virtual school). Parents should discuss any such concerns with the school principal or administrative staff.

Parents must take their child’s temperatures before sending them to school.

Children must be symptom-free with a temperature below 37.5° C, without the use of fever reducing medication, for at least 48 hours prior to attending school.Children who are unwell
must stay at home.

Online (Virtual) School

An online meeting will be arranged for students to meet their teachers before the start of school.

Approval to Reopen Schools.

The Ministry of Education has given permission for kindergartens and private schools in Bahrain to reopen, as per their individual term schedules. The way in which teaching will be delivered, the ‘learning model’ will depend on the risk the pandemic poses to the health, safety and wellbeing of our children and school community, as described below.
Following approval from the Ministry of Education, Little Starz Preschool has approved the reopening of school based on this Pre-school Readiness Plan being implemented, strictly adhered to and monitored for compliance.
