Little Starz's Terms & Conditions.

1. Preamble
  1. This document sets out the terms and conditions of service and outlines important information. This, along with any other terms, conditions, and policies that apply to our services, form a legal agreement (“the agreement”) between you (“the parent”) and Little Starz Preschool (“Little Starz”).
  2. We are authorised to provide preliminary education under Bahraini laws. You may ask for a copy of these terms and conditions, as well as any other policies, by contacting us (please visit ‘Contact’ under ‘Little Us’ in the menu bar of our online website to view the ways in which you may contact Little Starz).
  3. The term “parent(s)” include(s) non-biological parents, guardians, and carers where applicable.
2. Complaints or Concerns
  1. Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to Little Starz. Any and all complaints/concerns will be reported to the appropriate person. If you have any complaints or concerns, please speak to us as soon as reasonably possible and we will endeavour to resolve them promptly. You may also discuss any of these complaints/concerns with the child’s teacher.
  2. If complaints communicated to staff members have not been resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the administration.
3. Opening Hours
  1. Little Starz is open 7 am - 1:45 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
  2. As per Bahraini law, we are open for business 180 days per academic year.
  3. Little Starz will be closed during public holidays.
  4. Opening hours are subject to change in accordance with any government regulations.
4. AGE OF ADMITTANCE
  1. Only children aged 20 months to 3 years are legally eligible to attend Pre-Nursery classes.
  2. We currently accept children from 2 to 6 years. Your child may be eligible for an exception under certain circumstances. Please contact us to discuss more.
5. DROP-OFF AND COLLECTION
  1. For security purposes, a child may only be collected by a parent/guardian who’s information has been provided to Little Starz beforehand and has been listed as an authorised person unless authorised by the parents personally by email or telephone.
  2. If we are not reasonably satisfied that an individual is allowed to collect your child, we will not release your child into their care before contacting the parent/guardian.
  3. We will never permit a child to leave the premises unaccompanied or with an unauthorised person.
  4. Drop-off is between 6:30 - 7:45 am.
  5. Initial Collection is between 12:30 - 1:00 pm (unless late supervision has been arranged with us).
  6. Any parent/guardian who is unable to collect their child at the correct time is required to inform Little Starz immediately or beforehand to allow us to staff the preschool accordingly and make any appropriate arrangements.
  7. In the event that an authorised person is unable to collect your child for any reason, one of the child’s parents must inform Little Starz administration through email or phone as soon as reasonably practicable and provide the person’s name and relationship to the child.
  8. If you wish for another person to collect your child, please contact us by using one of the registered phone numbers/emails provided to us upon registration.
  9. If parents are aware that they are unable to collect their child at the initial collection time period for a specific duration and would prefer to collect their child at a later time (up to 2:30 pm), Little Starz must be informed accordingly, and ‘Late Supervision’ will be arranged.
6. ​Late Supervision
  1. ‘Late Supervision’ starts from 1:00 pm and ends at 2:30 pm. Please be advised that Little Starz charges a Late Supervision Fee.
  2. Late Supervision Fee: BD 30 per month.
  3. Late Supervision Fee applies --
    1. when you pre-arrange Late Supervision with us beforehand; or
    2. if you fail to collect your chid/children during the initial collection time period 5 times.
  4. ‘Late Supervision’ arrangements are implemented by monthly periods.
  5. If a parent/guardian does not collect their child/children by 2:30 pm, Little Starz will contact the parent/guardian immediately implement short notice arrangements.
  6. If a parent/guardian fails to collect their child/children during the initial collection time period for at least 5 days, you will be obligated to pay the Late Supervision Fee.
7. ​EMERGENCY TREATMENT
  1. If a child was involved in an accident whilst under our care, we will endeavour to provide basic first aid treatment by our qualified staff. This will include treatment of minor cuts, bumps, bruises, etc.
  2. Any emergency treatment or medical advice will be permitted unless a parent states otherwise in writing. Little Starz does not accept any responsibility for treatment given against parent’s wishes if we have not been informed otherwise.
  3. Any emergency treatment will be communicated to the parent(s)/guardian(s) as soon as reasonably practicable.
  4. In the case of a more serious accident or incident a child will be taken immediately to a doctor or the nearest hospital and parents will be informed.
8. ​SICKNESS
  1. Little Starz will make every effort to notify parents should their child become ill at the preschool.
  2. You must not allow your child to attend if they are suffering from a contagious disease/virus which could be passed on to other children.
  3. Little Starz reserves the right to restrict access of children until we are satisfied they are not infectious in order to protect other children from cross infection.
  4. If your child is suffering from a doubtful rash, sore throat, discharge from the eyes, nose, diarrhoea or any similar symptoms; please keep the child at home until the doctor has certified that the symptoms have disappeared.
9. ​ALLERGY AND INTOLERANCE
  1. Upon registration, Little Starz requires disclosure of any and all allergies and/or intolerances.
  2. You must inform us immediately if your child is diagnosed with any allergy or intolerance. Little Starz is not responsible for any illness, reaction, etc. as a result of consumption of, interaction with, or exposure to any substance if you failed to disclose the allergy/intolerance.
10. ​REGISTRATION AND FEES
  1. The parent may apply for registration with Little Starz either through our online application form or by paper application. Your child will be considered for entry to Little Starz once the application has been submitted and the registration fee paid in full.
  2. A registration fee of BD100 is payable for new students upon registration. This is a non-refundable fee.
  3. Submitting an application and payment of the registration fee does not guarantee enrolment.
  4. VAT is applicable and payable on items listed at the time of invoice.
  5. “Fees” include tuition fees and additional fees.
  6. “Additional Fees” include books and supplies, educational field trips, snacks, pampers (for Pre-Nursery only), and school uniform.
  7. VAT is applicable and payable on snacks, pampers, and school uniforms.
  8. The fees must be paid in full regardless of sickness or absence.
  9. Payment plans are available upon request. Please contact us to discuss this in detail.
  10. Little Starz reserves the right to restrict access for your child into school in the event that an invoice is not paid by the due date or in the event of an outstanding balance. Parents must be aware that the school will enforce its right to restrict access or offer your child’s place to a child on our waiting list, should invoices not be paid in full.
  11. Fees are subject to change, subject to approval from the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and Ministry of Education. In such an event, parents would be notified in advance. 
  12. Refunds will not be permitted under any circumstances as fees are non-refundable.
  13. Little Starz will not refund fees or be in breach of the agreement by reason of any delay in performance, non-performance, or alternative measures of performance of its obligations due to any event outside its reasonable control. These include, without limitation, any act deemed to be force majeure, fire, war, acts of terrorism, strikes or other industrial action, infectious diseases, epidemics, pandemics, inclement weather (e.g. storms, flooding), unforeseeable repairs or any failure of public or utility services. This does not prejudice any rules that otherwise permit refunds in other circumstances, such as where the child withdraws under para. 9.14.
  14. If a child withdraws before the term starts, 90% of the fees will be refunded. No early notice is required.
  15. If a child withdraws during the term, the fees will be charged pro-rata. Where a child withdraws during the term, we require at least 1 months’ notice in writing before the intended ‘date of withdrawal’. If notice is not given, the day in which you express your intention to withdraw your child will be considered as the ‘notice’ required under this term, and the ‘date of withdrawal’ is 1 month from that day. If no notice or expression of intention to withdraw is given, Little Starz reserves the right to restrict any refunds and your entitlement to any refund will be revoked.
  16. In unfortunate circumstances such as those mentioned in para. 9.13, the child is not deemed to have been “withdrawn” from Little Starz.
11. ​Non-Payment and Late Payment
  1. The school reserves the right to restrict access for your child into school in the event that invoices are not paid by the due date. Parents must be aware that the school will enforce its right to restrict access or offer your child’s place to a child on our waiting list, should invoices not be paid in full.
12. ​CANCELLATION AND WITHDRAWALS
  1. As stated above, cancellation of enrolment will not result in the refund of any fees, unless the child/children was/were withdrawn before the term starts (or pro-rata if the term has begun).
  2. If a parent wishes to withdraw their child, they must provide notice to the school as soon as reasonably practicable, and any event no later than the beginning of the term if you wish to withdraw your child/children before the term begins.
  3. Where a child is withdrawn during the term, we require at least 1 months’ notice in writing before the intended ‘date of withdrawal’. If notice is not given, the day in which you express your intention to withdraw your child will be considered as the ‘notice’ required under this term, and the ‘date of withdrawal’ is 1 month from that day. If no notice or expression of intention to withdraw is given, Little Starz reserves the right to restrict any refunds and your entitlement to any refund will be revoked.
  4. Little Starz reserves the right to exclude a child from attending school for any breach of the agreement.
  5. We may terminate the agreement if your child’s behaviour is deemed to be unacceptable or endanger the safety and well-being of other children at the preschool.
  6. If you have incurred an outstanding balance or an unpaid invoice, Little Starz may terminate the agreement and temporarily or permanently restrict access of the child from attending school.
  7. Upon termination of the agreement, Little Starz may restrict access of the child into the preschool. This shall be regarded as a formal demand for all outstanding payments and we will issue a final invoice.
13. METHODS OF PAYMENT
  1. Little Starz accepts payments in the following methods:
    1. Cash;
    2. Cheque;
    3. Bank Transfer; and
    4. BenefitPay.

14. ​CHILD PROTECTION
  1. Any child who attends Little Starz has a right to protection from neglect, physical, mental, or any other abuse. It is out priority to keep children safe from harm whilst in our care.
  2. Children should be delivered by parents/guardians/carers into the care of a Little Starz Staff Member and entered into the attendance register.
  3. It is our obligation to seek professional advice from local social services if we suspect a child is suffering from harm. We have an obligation to report any instances where we consider that a child may have been neglected or abused to the relevant authorities. We may do so without your consent and/or without informing you.
15. ​PRIVACY NOTICE
  1. Little Starz processes personal data including, but not limited to, the following: address, telephone contacts, date of birth, email addresses, employment information, gender, physical conditions, disabilities, allergies, dietary requirements, child photographs, and care, learning, and development records.
  2. We process this information to ensure a safe, secure, and healthy environment for your child, to administer first aid/medical care if necessary, to comply with all relevant government regulation and preschool policies and procedures, to help us understand your child’s needs, talents, abilities, and interests, and for marketing purposes.
15. ​Changes to the Terms and Conditions
  1. Little Starz reserves the right to make amendments to the terms and conditions without notice.
16. WAIVER
  1. Any waiver of these terms and conditions is only effective if given by or on behalf of the Ms Shirley Giles, Principal of Little Starz.
